As social network (and real-life social) savvy as I consider myself to be, I have never started a blog. Maybe it's because I actually wrote everyday at my old job. Maybe it's because I really have nothing I would write a blog about that hasn't already been written about. Whatever the case may be, I've never caught the blog bug. Until it was forced upon me.
For my "Learning Through Technology" course, we've been asked to create a blog. So here I am! Our first entry is an "About Me" entry, and...this is it.
My name is Julie. I'm a twentysomething graduate student, slowly figuring out my life. I recently made the rather large decision to switch career paths. While I was happy pursuing my master's in Organization Leadership and working in development communications at a college, I started to realize that working the 9-5 desk job just wasn't doing it for me. I took the leap I'd been putting off for the last ten years, and committed to getting certified to teach.
So, here I am--two weeks into a new job at a credit union (where I will eventually be working as the high school coordinator at a vo-tech program that partners with the CU), writing a blog about what I'm learning in class about technology, teaching, and anything I may run across whilst doing so.
